In the year of 2007 only, 326 patietns have improved in the two hospitals of Berbera (139) and Hargeisa (187), while 25 outpatients were selected to be treated at Burao mental hospital. Apart from this, due to the emerging situations or circumstances, such as droughts, chronic unemployment with poverty, and regional instability there are a high number of newly developed mentally ill cases appearing on the streets of the big cities in Somaliland.
